Getting Your Ducks in a Row

"There is no clear path to success, but you can start by finding the right direction."
Mulberry Ducks is a consulting firm whose aim it is to facilitate organisations to enhance productivity, through creative learning programs, used to improve systems and structures, and develop communication to deliver better outcomes.
Our goal is to translate language for understanding, purpose and function, and to bring a fresh engagement in learning to create functional change in everyday practice.

Bec Lanham

Mulberry Ducks was established in 2008, after I recognised my desire to see learning take place in a real way, and recognised the bonus each light bulb moment brought to my experience.
Consulting is a combination of teaching and translating; in order to teach a new process, you need to translate the information into the language of the learner.
For the first 15 years of my working life I held positions in large and small corporate settings. Within these organisations my role required the transfer of information from one person to another, but more importantly the translation of information from person to person.
As an EA in my earliest roles I controlled the information flow to and from my manager. I took the message given to me, and translated it into the language that best suited the recipient ... all using English!
When I moved into HR roles, and then onto corporate training, I found my role to be one of an interpreter, rather than just a facilitator or communicator.
Each training program I developed was founded in helping others to communicate their message. My aim to transfer knowledge in an engaged and entertaining way. I have helped people, find their voice, (assertiveness) improve their effectiveness through language, (time managment) and craft their message more productively (business writing).
Each program provided the translation of a function into language the user could connect with, learn from, and put into practice.
Translating language for understanding, purpose and function is my passion, and Mulberry Ducks has given me a place to work in my passion.

Bec was a wonderful facilitator who got the most out of each personality type (there were a few believe me) and Bec was very constructive with the participation of each type. I got a lot out of it and the content of the course was extremely beneficial to me on both a personal and professional level.
This is the second time I have done the course and whilst I acknowledge the benefit of having more clearly defined personal objectives for doing the course this time - I did in many ways find the course a lot more informative, more of both the facilitator and the way the course content was covered and also the participants were more fully engaged. Well done Bec! I learnt a lot!!”
